XPEL PPF for Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Volvo: How Carsbuddy Protects Luxury Cars With Genuine Film

By Carsbuddy ·

Owners of Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Volvo cars usually ask us the same thing: how do you make sure what goes on my car is genuine and top quality? Here is the straight answer. It comes down to three things: the film, the fit and the person installing it.

1. The Film: Genuine XPEL, Installed by a Certified Studio

Carsbuddy is an authorised XPEL installer, certified directly by the brand. That means:

  • Genuine product. XPEL film, ceramic coatings and window tints, not a lookalike sold under a similar name.
  • Brand-backed warranty. PPF is offered with up to ten years of protection under a written warranty, and support carries between our studios in Bangalore, Kochi and Coimbatore.
  • Trained technicians following XPEL's technical standards.

You can ask to see the film, the product name and the warranty terms before work begins. Read more in how we provide XPEL.

2. Which XPEL Film for Which Car

| Your priority | Film we recommend | |---|---| | Clear, long-lasting protection for a new luxury car | Ultimate Plus | | Dusty roads, monsoon, easier cleaning | Ultimate Fusion (hydrophobic top coat built in) | | Highway-heavy use, bumpers, mirrors, bonnet edge | Exo Armor on high-impact zones | | Matte or satin paint, or a satin look | Stealth | | Colour change with protection | Color |

Compare them in detail in our PPF quality guide. We recommend by how you use the car, not by price.

3. The Fit: Vehicle-Specific Kits, No Blades on Your Paint

Modern Mercedes, BMW and Volvo bodies have sharp creases, curved bumpers and tightly fitted trim. We use vehicle-specific pattern kits, so the film is cut to your model beforehand and no blade is taken to your paint. Edges are wrapped and sealed where appropriate, so there are fewer visible lines and less dirt creeping in.

4. Preparation and Handling

Protection locks in whatever is underneath, so before any film goes on:

  • The car is hand washed and decontaminated.
  • Paint is machine polished where needed to remove swirls and light scratches, correcting only what is required.
  • We inspect the car with you and note existing chips or previous repaint.
  • Trim, badges and sensors are handled with care. We always take the car's sensors and cameras into account when planning the work.

5. What Owners of These Brands Usually Ask For

Mercedes-Benz

Front-end PPF (bonnet, bumper, headlamps, mirrors) is the most common start. Many owners add a ceramic coating for gloss. If your car has a matte finish, such as a factory matte or magno finish, we advise on Stealth film and the right care before you choose.

BMW

BMW owners often choose full front-end or full-body Ultimate Plus or Ultimate Fusion. For cars with satin or frozen-type finishes, Stealth protects while keeping the look. We explain how to wash these finishes correctly at handover.

Volvo

Volvos see a lot of long-distance highway driving, so stone chips on the bonnet and bumper are the usual concern. Front-end PPF with Exo Armor or Ultimate Plus on the high-impact zones is a sensible, cost-effective option. A ceramic coating helps the lighter colours stay clean.

If your car is a model we have not mentioned, call us. The process is the same.

6. How a Job Runs

  1. Consultation and inspection in good light.
  2. Preparation: wash, decontamination and polishing where needed.
  3. Application by trained technicians with vehicle-specific kits.
  4. WhatsApp updates and photos while the car is in the bay.
  5. Handover walkthrough, the written warranty and care instructions.
  6. Aftercare: visit any studio if an edge lifts or a panel is damaged. See how to maintain PPF.

7. How We Check the Details and Make It Last

Before handover we inspect every panel in good light, checking edges, corners and the areas around trim, badges, sensors and cameras. Film edges should be tight and sealed, with no lifting or trapped debris. You see the finished car with us before you take it.

After the job, longevity comes from sealed edges, genuine XPEL film, a written warranty and clear aftercare. We tell you when to first wash the car and how, and any studio will check an edge or stain on request. Our full approach is in how Carsbuddy takes care of premium and luxury cars, and care steps are in how to maintain PPF.

8. Does PPF Affect the Factory Warranty or Resale?

Quality PPF sits on top of the paint and is removable, so the factory paint underneath stays original. A documented, genuine installation also helps when you sell. For questions about your car manufacturer's warranty terms, check with your dealer.

How to Check Any Installer for a Luxury Car

  • Ask for their XPEL certification.
  • Ask which film and product name they will use.
  • Ask whether the kit is vehicle-specific.
  • Ask for the warranty in writing and who honours it.

We are happy to answer all four.
